18 Packaged and Healthy Snacks for Adults

18 Packaged and Healthy Snacks for Adults 1

Let’s get one thing straight, we love our packaged snack foods. In fact, if we had our druthers, we’d eat 3 different flavors of Doritos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Unfortunately, as responsible adults, we have our waistlines, cholesterol levels, sugar levels, and kids to think about (role modeling and all that).

But kicking Doritos to the curb is not something to be done cold turkey. There’s nothing as difficult as watching the tube without the oral gratification of greasy, cheesy, crunchy triangles made primarily of corn and vegetable oil. So, we decided to try switching to healthy packaged snack foods, as a baby step.

Healthy Snacks for Adults (Packaged)

Like they say when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping, which is exactly what we did, grocery shopping that is, and we’re happy to report the aisles of the grocery store (see our Pro Bars Healthy Packaged Snacks from Whole Foods) and the jungles of the Amazon did not let us down. Here is our healthy packaged snack list for 2020.

Nothing But the Fruit- Real Pressed Fruit

Healthy Snacks

We have to admit, we had a really hard time believing that there was real fruit inside those bite-sized little pieces, but according to company, each package contains one full serving of fruit and natural plant ingredients with no artificial sweeteners, preservatives, or added sugar. That made us really happy because they tasted just like gummy bears to us. Check it out on Amazon.

Stacy and Mom Lotus Root Chips

✨🍋 LEMON GINGER SCONES 🍋✨ Bringing you your newest totally #grainfree and #vegan at-home fave! Save this one for later! INGREDIENTS: 3-4 Emmy’s Organics Lemon Ginger Coconut Cookies 2 3/4 cups gluten free flour 1/4 cup coconut oil (solid) 1 cup plant based milk 1 Tbsp vinegar 1/3 cup coconut sugar 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Preheat your oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside. 2. In a small bowl, combine the milk and vinegar and set it aside – it will curdle as you prep the other ingredients. In a large bowl, mix together your flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Once this is mixed, add in your coconut oil – you don’t want it to be melted, just solid. 3. Using a spoon or your hands, mix the oil into the dry mix – it should just break apart into small pieces. Then, add the milk mixture to the dry mix, combining everything together. 4. Fold in your crumbled Emmy's Organics Lemon Ginger Coconut Cookies. Flour your counter and roll out your dough – sprinkle more flour on top in case it is a bit too sticky. 5. Using a cup or cookie cutter, cut out the scones roughly two-inch high disks, and place them on your baking sheet. Bake the scones for about 20 minutes, and allow them to cool before adding any drizzle. 6. Enjoy! Visit our new blog, The Crumb, to see more recipes like this! We don’t know about you, but whenever we hear the word cookie, we immediately turn into blue furry monsters with bad eating habits.  So as soon as we heard the word cookie in Emmy’s Organic Coconut Cookies, we were shovin’ them into our mouths as fast as our blue paws could deliver them. Now we go to these Emmy’s Organic Cookies whenever we’re craving something sweet and we don’t want the sugar “blues.” These cookies come three in a bag, which helps with portion control (which we’re monstrously happy about), and they’re filling too. Garden Lite Veggies Made Great Muffins

18 Packaged and Healthy Snacks for Adults 7

It used to be that every day was the same. We would wake up, trudge to the 7-11, get our Otis Spunkmeyer double chocolate chunk, banana nut, or lemon poppyseed accompanied by a cup of liquid sludge and that would be our breakfast of Champions. However, by midday, we invariably felt more like losers than champions. That’s when we discovered Garden Lite Muffins in carrot berry and blueberry oat. Not only are they full of fruits and veggies, but they can also be defrosted in about 30 seconds in the microwave. Best of all, they’re full of protein and fiber and are only 110 calories per muffin. For your new breakfast of champions, shop for these on

Organic Dark Chocolate

Could something this sinful actually be healthful? Yes, we had a hard time accepting at first, but once we found out that dark chocolate was good for us, we got used to it very quickly. If you need your daily sweet, go for an antioxidant-rich dark chocolate bar. Try and keep it down to 3-4 squares a day though. Unfortunately, they still haven’t found a way to cut down on calories or sugar. For maximum benefits, look for something with at least 70% cocoa solids.

Quest Double Chunk Chocolate Bar

18 Packaged and Healthy Snacks for Adults 8

We tried to keep our dark chocolate intake down to 3-4 squares a day, but somehow, we always found ourselves wolfing down the whole bar. After reading our scales started making us weep, we found the Quest Double Chunk Chocolate Bar to be our savior. This double chunk devil has only 180 calories, a whopping 20 grams of protein, and 14 grams of heart-healthy fiber. Heat it in the microwave and you may think that you died and went to gooey, fudgy heaven. Get your funky chunky Quest Bar on Amazon.

We never got into the groove much before, but with these healthy packaged snacks, we’re feelin’ the beet and the rhythm. These dehydrated veggies are some lean mean protein machines, and they make us feel like dancing because we know we’re getting our servings of vegetables while we twerk, whip and nae-nae, and Dougie. Laughing Cow

18 Packaged and Healthy Snacks for Adults 10

Pourquoi la Vache Qui Rit rit? That means “Why is the Cow Laughing?” in French, a question which has been synonymous with The Laughing Cow product for years. As for us, we’re not sure, but we sure dig her cheese wedges (not to mention her earrings). Whenever we want our dairy on the go, we take round boxes of the Laughing Cow individual serving size and toss them in our purses. The protein keeps us full, plus it helps us meet our three daily recommended servings of dairy. Get cheesy with it on thelaughingcow.com.

Sabra Hummus Grab and Go With Pretzels

No ho-hum hummus here. We’re always looking for new ways to make creative use of hummus, but dipping pretzels into it was something we never saw coming. Now, thanks to Sabra, we have a new way of eating hummus and the best part is, we can do it on the go. Not only does this healthy packaged snack provide us with 10 grams of protein, but it also keeps us full throughout the day and the roasted red pepper flavor gives it just the right amount of zing. Check it out on Amazon.

Go Raw Sprouted Bites

18 Packaged and Healthy Snacks for Adults 11

We never thought we’d see the day when cookies grew sprouts, but we’re sure glad it happened. When we eat the choco crunch flavor you could convince us that we’re chomping on a Nestle Crunch and we wouldn’t be any the wiser. Yet we think we must be wiser because we’ve made the smarter choice. Not only is Go Raw Sprouted Bites much lower in sugar than Nestle Crunch Bars, but they’re also packed with clean ingredients that keep us satisfied for the whole day. Get the raw deal on Amazon.

Pro Bars Healthy Packaged Snacks Whole Foods

A few years ago, if we found out that we were eating anything alive, images of contestants on Fear Factor eating maggots would immediately have filled our heads. However, when we found out that we were eating good live bacteria in yogurt for most of our lives and benefitting from it, we became less bugged out by the concept. Now that we’re eating Pro bars, filled with probiotics (good bacteria) we love the taste so much we wouldn’t care what was in them. But judging from the ingredient label, there’s a whole lot of good in these. Available exclusively in the Whole Foods healthy packaged snacks refrigerator section, Pro bars come in four delicious varieties including Coconut Cashew, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, and Almond Butter.
